What We Can Do Together!
As Regional Vice Chair (RVC), I will work with our Country Committees and Non-Country Committee organizations to build strong institutions and strong GOTV programs. I look forward to working with the other members of the Global Executive Committee to support our goals and represent our interests in global discussions. I will strive to work with all partners and stakeholders to achieve goals and keep the focus on our outcomes: winning elections back home.
Here are some of my specific goals and outcomes I will strive for!
Grow our GOTV footprint
I will work with the Country Committee and Non-Country Committee Leaders and GOTV Coordinator to expand our Get Out The Vote and increase turnout among both members and Americans writ-large across our region.
Data & Storytelling are key!
I believe in building data-driven campaigns that encourage coordination and resource sharing. But I also believe that we should be bold and tell our story to our voters, meet them where they are, and the understand the issues that matter most.
That also means exploring all methods of communicating with voters, depending on location, membership information and availability of our members.
As one of the most geographically integrated regions with a large bench of leaders and volunteers, I believe we can build on the foundations of 2024’s coordinated GOTV campaign that helps us make better decisions with our time and resources.
Expand our membership ( & our GOTV universe),
Our membership is our GOTV universe - making it the easiest place to go when it is election time. But it can also be a bubble that’s hard to break out of.
Membership expansion was one of the most cited concerns during my early discussions about this position. I want to work with leaders to expand and retain our membership. Some of the ways we discussed was about:
getting more local to our communities,
understanding what our members want from DA, and;
reviewing how paid advertising can help us reach American demographics.
By expanding the bubble, we make GOTV more impactful. It gives our party more reach, and more control over how we grow.
Strengthening Party Leadership
Organizations rise and fall on their bench of leaders and engaged stakeholders. As Non-CC Representative, GOTV went together with party building and training new leaders.
We have so many opportunities to develop leadership that build on Regional Calls and off-year EMEA Meeting, such as more regional and multi-country calls and shared trainings. I am committed to creating learning opportunities that make the Regional Vice Chair, Deputies and collaborators partners in sustaining and growing leadership across the region.
For members without a country committee, I am committed to working with your EMEA Non-CC Representative and Country Leaders to continue the party building we started in 2024, making Non-CC members stronger partners in GOTV and build advocacy spaces of Democrats Abroad.
Create pathways for greater Sustainability and Professionalization
Like any organization, you have to invest in yourself in order to grow your impact. I have worked with campaigns, party committees and organizations to build stronger, more sustainable and more professionalized programs that move the goal post forward.
I want to work together with our Committees and Non-CC organizations to:
understand our baseline for growth,
mobilize resources and develop expertise,
strengthen institutional knowledge and retention, and;
invest in volunteer leadership as a rewarding and impactful opportunity for our members.
